The Joachim Lelewel Public Library in Koszalin is a local government cultural institution operating in Koszalin since 1947. It is the largest public library in the Central Pomerania region. User services are provided through the Main Library and 10 branches located throughout the city.
The main profile of the institution's activity is the promotion of reading and the dissemination of knowledge and information. Services include providing access to and lending of academic, educational, and fiction collections.
We also possess a rich collection of periodicals, social life documents, audiobooks, board games, and discs, and our users have free access to the internet. The library's cultural and educational offer is addressed to people of all ages. We organize numerous author meetings, book promotions, competitions, concerts, lectures, workshops, and courses. Our team consists of experienced specialists in education, cultural dissemination, and bibliotherapeutic work.
We also cooperate with local partners, including Slow Koszalin, Good Vibe Festival, Centrum Kultury 105, the Regional Branch of the Society of Children's Friends in Koszalin, MPS International, No Fun Booking, the "Stary Koszalin Miłośnicy" group, collectors' groups, and regional creators. Our institution particularly promotes inclusive activities that are accessible to people with special needs. For years, we have been actively combatting discrimination and social exclusion.
Our activities are free of charge, and the absence of communication barriers makes our offer widely accessible.
